Fall 2017- Tony Capparelli created a chalk art mural as part of “CHALKFIT” at the Fashion Institute of Technology on the corner of 28th Street and 7th Avenue in New York City.

Capparelli’s street art mural was a get well card for NJ Devils forward Brian Boyle, who, was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia just after his signing with the Devils.

NHL.com, TSN, NHL on NBC, NBC Sports and the Madison Square Garden Network all ran features on the Capparelli’s Street Art, which included some wonderful interactions between fans and Team President Hugh Weber. Fans were encouraged to take their picture in front of the mural, and tweet it back to Weber, who awarded free game tickets to select twitter postings and tweets.

But most important was Brian’s response on Twitter, thanking Tony: “Thank you so much Tony. Incredible job and incredible gesture. My wife and I were speechless! God Bless”. As Capparelli noted: “it was worth the extra time just to hear of the positive effect and encouragement received by the Boyle family!”

Here are some photos and video from the #BoyleStrong mural:
