Sports And Art To Be Featured At The Fashion Institute Of Technology In New York City This Fall

SPORTS AND ART TO BE FEATURED AT THE FASHION INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY IN NEW YORK CITY THIS FALL

This Fall The Fashion Institute of Technology will be hosting “Tony Capparelli’s Art of Sport” at Gallery FIT, located on 27th Street and Seventh Avenue in New York City.

Included in this exhibition will be works featuring various NHL, NFL, NBA, and MLB players and venues. The artworks will range from oil murals, to video and holographic imagery as well as textile artworks, and airbrushed goalie masks.

Instructional video will also be displayed. Tony uses these videos in the classroom for his FIT Illustration classes. The videos range from watercolor depictions of Mariano Rivera, Henrik Lundqvist, and Martin Brodeur as well as airbrush art featuring Jonathan Quick and various NJ Devils milestone paintings.

A nine foot long oil mural depicting the 1994 NY Rangers Stanley Cup panorama will also be on view, as well as a hand repainted mini-mural based on Capparelli’s 1980 Stanley Cup Mural which has been on display at the Nassau Coliseum since 2001.

Tony is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology, and also teaches drawing at Seton Hall University. Tony has been cited by the Robb Report, has created the NFL Super Bowl XLIV Portrait, and has been the NJ Devils Milestone Artist since 1989.
